The grass underfoot was wet and cold to touch, my feet carelessly gliding over the blades as Grecia followed suit, trying to catch up. The sun was not less than an hour from setting and I wanted to watch it from the tree tops. The birds and the animals were quiet this time of day, wanting to return to their nests, burrows, where they call home.
Grecia shouted from behind me, “Ava!” her voice ringing in the quiet forest, “first one to find a star orange is an ugly duckling!” Oh no she didn’t. I grinned, and looked back to see her swiftly grabbing hold of branches and using her momentum to pull herself up the tree.  
Her dark green figure disappeared up the tree, and I faced forward in time to jump between a split in the trees. I changed my attention on a rather large tree, a full tree, as wide as I am long and the deepest green leaves, no birds ever nest in this tree because its where Grecia and I like to sit and watch the forest, we made su

    Another sketch commission for a friend. This one was in the works quite a while ago, before the contest started, but kept getting pushed back and pushed back. If the designs aren't obvious enough, she's in the same story as Avaline. A neater and a bit more of an ornate version of the design, though. 

    Also, by the time I'm able to check this again, I should be at school already. Summer's over, but the schedule again isn't so tough. Tuesdays and Thursdays only, but I'll be gone all day on both days, aside from a chunk in the middle where I usually try and get to a computer lab to check stuff on DA. 

    Other note...my faces are in need of some attention. I think I'm getting the placement of the eyes in reference to each other right, usually, but not quite so much in reference to how the skull would be shaped underneath. As I've been looking through, it's been looking a little odd to me. Like the faces are pushed down to far, or the heads are too tall or something. Either way, it's one of those things I'll be ironing out in practice at school when I have the time to just doodle more.

    I loved designing Grecia, and I like the results of her design, but I wanted to make her face different and couldn't quite figure it out. I need to get more tools in the toolbox again and start learning rather than just following similar patterns for things and reinforcing negligent art habits.
